Goal difference is becoming more and more important for the Cobblers after we slipped out of the playoff places on Monday afternoon. Town's positive +12, higher than three of the four teams currently in the playoffs and only one short of Aldershot, means that even a draw in Saturday's daunting home game with Notts County could well be worthwhile.
That would mean that a defeat for any one of the four teams above us combined with even a draw for the Cobblers would lift us into the top seven again. Of course, a win would be much nicer so we have to pray for an absolute top notch performance from us and a real off day for County!
Stranger things have happened of course...
