Crewe Alexandra 2-2 Northampton Town

While I was rocking on in the west end, the mighty Town were playing out what sounded like a superb opening game of the season.

Super Scotty cancelled out Ryan Lowe's opener before David Vaughn gave Crewe the lead once more. Then a goal that Andy Kirk needed so much, his first in a long, frustrating period of games which seemed to have stemmed the flow of his usual free scoring ability.

Excellent result in the end and all of the reports I've heard were very positive and we now head to Sixfields for our first home game of the season against Brentford on Tuesday night. I'll have to settle for Cobblers World commentary for that one!
