The Cobblers suffered their second successive defeat at Sixfields this afternoon with Luke Varney inspiring Crewe to a narrow victory. Varney struck mid way through the first half before Brad Johnson equlised for the Cobblers to briefly bring us back into the game. Just 90 seconds later though, Varney put the Railwaymen back in front. Chris Doig thought he had earned a point but his goal was disallowed.
So we now head to a very tough looking double bill of away games. First up is the rearranged game at Port Vale on Tuesday night before teh long awaited trip to Nottingham Forest next Saturday. We're right back in the relegation battle now and this double dose of tough fixtures hasn't come at the best of times!
