League One Round Up

The Cobblers remain in thirteenth place after Saturday's fixtures see Scunthorpe climb to the top of the League One table.

The Irons recorded a comfortable home win over Crewe at Glanford Park, their ninth win in ten games, to see off The Alex, who stay in the bottom four. Leicester didn't play due to international call ups but can reclaim top spot with a win in their game in hand.

Leeds are two points off the pace after beating Brighton 3-1 at Elland Road with Luciano Becchio and two from Jermaine Beckford saw them to a good win. Millwall kept their good run going by beating Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park whilst MK Dons won the televised game 3-1 against Carlisle. Oldham drop to sixth but can go third with a win over Hereford tomorrow afternoon.

At the bottom, Hereford will be praying for a win at Boundary Park because if they can claim all three points they will go off the foot of the table. Crewe are just a couple of points ahead of them while Yeovil didn't play but are also on just seven points. Colchester drop into the bottom four following their dramatic 4-3 reverse at Cheltenham. Barry Hayles scored in the fifth minute of injury time to win it for The Robins who are up to eighteenth.

So not a bad day for the Cobblers who remain where they were following last night's victory over Hartlepool and can now push for a top half place next weekend as struggling Yeovil come to town.
