Oldham Athletic (A) Preview

The Cobblers face their first game in two weeks with the trip to Oldham tomorrow and Stuart Gray will be hoping his troops can avenge a 1-0 defeat earlier in the season at Sixfields.

Team News

Oldham could hand a debut to new loan signing Seb Hines after the defender joined from Middlesbrough this week. Goalkeeper Greg Fleming faces a suspension after being sent off at Leciester last week.

The Cobblers are without Liam Davis, who has had a hernia operation and faces a couple of weeks out, and Luke Guttridge, who pulled up in training this week. Otherwise, the injury to Adebayo Akinfenwa has healed and the front man should play alongside Billy Clarke up front.

Form

Oldham somehow came away from top club Leicester with a 0-0 draw last weekend despite having their goalkeeper Greg Fleming sent off after 50 minutes. There was no substitute stopper on the bench for the Latics so veteran Dean Windass took the gloves and kept a clean sheet to save a point.

The Cobblers’ last game was two weeks ago when Leicester took home all three points from Sixfields. Steve Howard and Lloyd Dyer turned the game around after Leon Constantine’s early goal. Since then the games at home to Swindon and away at Yeovil have both been postponed.
