With The Cobblers slipping nervously close to the League One bottom four after three straight defeats and last night's results, some say the relegation wouldn't be such a bad thing. Would gates increase in League Two with a promotion bid, would we attract better players in a promotion battle rather than a League One basement struggle? The answer is simple, in my humble opinion.
Relegation should NEVER be seen as a good thing. Who in their right mind could think so with our finances as dodgy as they are already? I said it a few weeks ago, we must focus on staying in League One to have any stability in the next couple of seasons.
Northampton Town isn't that attractive a propostion for players to come to in League One, let alone in League Two and who says we'd even be at the top of the table and pushing for promotion if were to go down?
It's tough times at the moment but we must do one thing...
