Mark Hughes has today made his return to League One as he signs for Walsall following his release from the Cobblers. Hughes failed to respond to a contract offer from Stuart Gray despite an extension being added on to the original contract deadline of June 16th.
Anthony Gerrard's departure from The Bescot Staium earlier this month to Cardiff meant that there was a hole in the Saddlers' defence and Chris Hutchings has swopped in to snap up Hughes and bring him back to the division from which he was relegated from last season.
