Beckwith in as Hughes departs
Former Hereford United defender Dean Beckwith has become the Cobblers' thrid summer signing and quickly replaces the departing Mark Hughes. Beckwith is still only 25 and came through the ranks at Gillingham before helping Hereford to promotion to the Football League and then to League Two.
A number of clubs were interested in the centre half but Stuart Gray has got his man and finalised a one year deal with the option of a further twelve months on top of that.
Meanwhile, Paul Rodgers will also join the ranks for pre-season training. Rodgers was with the club on loan towards the end of last season, making eleven appearances and Gray will have another look at the right back over the summer.
