The Cobblers welcome Crewe Alexandra to town tomorrow afternoon (3pm) as we try to close the gap a bit more on the top six. Any sort of win will do for Stuart Gray’s men at the start of what could be an exciting run-in for the club. But Crewe will be wanting desperately to get back to winning ways following the midweek defeat at home to high flying Carlisle United.
Stuart Gray is still without skipper Chris Doig who suffered a re-occurrence of his hamstring injury in the reserve team draw with Grays Athletic on Tuesday night. Alex Dyer, Brett Johnson and Colin Larkin all miss out through injury as well but we could name an unchanged side to the one that took home three points from Hartlepool last week.
Danny Woodards is back in the Crewe squad but may have to settle for a place on the bench due to the good form of George Abbey in recent weeks. Ben Rix, Billy Jones and Neil Cox are long term absentees for the Railwaymen.
