No Saints were dramatically relegated from League One last night as Red Star got their revenge for us beating them in our last two meetings.
Abib and Andy returned from absences but Will was away. Tim returned to make it an 8 man squad but we were overpowered by an improved Red Star outfit. After our old foes took an early lead, Abib replied but Red Star were quick on the break and stormed into a 4-1 lead. I got one back for us but there was no stopping them getting away. Try as we might, we could never get back into the game and ended up losing 8-4.
Abib grabbed a hat-trick but it wasn’t enough and we were relegated with a game to spare, a disappointing run of 5 defeats in a row condemning us to League Two football again next season!
