No Saints were beaten 6-3 last night by a new side to the league but because Kickabouts failed to show again we picked up a 3-0 win. The new boys took a while to settle and Dave scored his first goal of the season to give us the lead before I managed to double the advantage.
But our plucky opposition came back and despite a good show from stand in goalkeeper Jamie, they hit back to lead 4-2 before my second of the game made it 4-3. But we were eventually beaten 6-3 as we went for the goals that would give us a better “win” in the record books and pushed all four men forward including Jamie doing his best to emulate Jimmy Glass and Peter Schmeichal.
So a fond farewell to League One but we start again next week in a lower league with everything to play for. Our battling qualities and fresh faces in the squad give us a great chance of bouncing back next season in our one year anniversary season!
