The Cobblers travel to Premier League side Bolton Wanderers tonight in the Second Round of the Carling Cup.
Team News
Bolton boss Gary Megson is set to name a full strength side as he looks to do well in the Carling Cup this season. Record signing John Elmander and midfielder Matt Taylor picked up injuries at Newcastle on Saturday and will sit out of tonight’s game. But new signings Danny Shittu and Riga are to be given home debuts.
Danny Jackman, Colin Larkin and Leon Constantine all missed Saturday’s goalless draw with Millwall at Sixfields. Jackman and Larkin may come back into contention but Constantine will miss out once again. Stuart Gray is waiting on news from Wolves as to whether loanee Mark Little will be allowed to play in the game.
Form
Bolton kicked off the Premier Legaue campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday as Michael Owen came off the bench to give the Toon a narrow win.
The Cobblers were held to a goalless draw by Millwall at Sixfields at the weekend as we were frustrated by the Lions and had to settle for a point, our fourth point of the season. We progressed into Round Two by defeat Millwall though, at the New Den just a couple of weeks ago.
Head to Head...Wanderers v Cobblers...
Games Played: 10
Bolton Wins: 5
Draws: 1
Cobblers Wins: 4
