Northampton Town 2-3 Oldham Athletic

No time for a full report of the hectic day for me but it basically involved waking up in London at 9am on Sunday and having a last minute change of plan. After a lovely walk up St Catherine's Hill in Winchester on Saturday with Ti, I headed for Jamie's place in Hampton Court for a scrumptious curry with his family to celebrate his birthday. How many parties is that now?

So the plan was to visit Hampton Court Palace on Sunday but Ti sent a text to wake me on Sunday morning saying she couldn't make it. And so began my mad dash across London, having to dodge around the closed Northern Line and even being faced with the possibility of the Replacement Bus Service until Dad saved me that fate in Milton Keynes.

After all that running about I just knew we would lose the game. Oldham went in front within 90 seconds and after a brief resurgence through an Andy Kirk leveller, the visitors hit back just before half time and mid way through the second half to go 3-1 up. Jordan Robertson, making his first appearance after coming on as a half time subtitute finished well on 88 minutes to set up a grand stand finish but then wasted a good chance to level the game dramatically in stoppage time.

So the long journey home began and the tiredness from the weekend is a major reason for the lack of a full report on the game! Next up is Crewe at Sixfields this Saturday as we look to bounce back from Stuart Gray's first defeat in charge of the Cobblers.
