As the deadline draws ever nearer, the Cobblers have today swooped in two deals that sound very promising.
20-year-old defender Mark Hughes joins from Everton, where his first team chances were limited but the Toffees were apparantly keen to keep the youngster. Hughes can score goals and could be a direct replacement for the outgoing Luke Chambers.
Meanwhile, we've also signed striker Kenny Deuchar from Gretna on loan for the rest of the season. Deuchar has hit 66 goals in 82 starts for the Scottish First Division leaders during their rise up the leagues in the last few seasons. Standing at over 6" he should add a real presence to our attack.
