Leicester City (H) Preview

Next up for The Cobblers is the visit of League One’s top club Leicester City. Nigel Pearson has led his side to ten points clear at the summit of the league and Stuart Gray’s side will be in for a tough test at Sixfields.

Team News

The Cobblers are waiting on the fitness of Adebayo Akinfenwa, Giles Coke and Jason Crowe ahead of the game but defender Paul Rodgers definitely misses out after being sent off at Colchester on Tuesday night.

Defender Wayne Brown could be handed his Leicester debut after signing on loan from Hull City until the end of the season. The Foxes have doubts, though, over former Cobblers striker Steve Howard and defender Bruno Berner.

Form

Leicester were held to a goalless draw by Brighton on Tuesday night but still sit ten points clear of MK Dons at the top of the table. Last weekend saw them come from behind to beat Huddersfield Town at the Walkers Stadium.

The Cobblers were beaten on Tuesday night at Colchester after Adebayo Akinfenwa had given us the lead. Paul Rodgers was sent off just before the break and the home side turned the game around after half-time.

Earlier this season the two sides played out a goalless draw in our first ever visit to the Walkers Stadium. Adebayo Akinfenwa limped off mid-way through the second half and didn’t return to action until Boxing Day.
