Poul Hubertz became the Cobblers' latest signing yesterday as the big hit man joined from League One rivals Millwall.
The 30-year-old had a trial with the club and impressed boss Stuart Gray enough for him to offer a contract and hand him his debut at Nene Park yesterday afternoon.
Hubertz began his career at Danish side Aab Aalborg before joining Millwall in August 2006, scoring ten times last season. One goal of his that won’t be on the record was the one he scored at Sixfields back in December. His strike gave Millwall the lead but the game was abandoned mid-way through the second half before we won the re-arranged game 3-0.
The squad is now just about complete and the arrival of Hubertz certainly gives us a bit more of a presence up front with the player standing at 6’5 tall. It also means that James Quinn is pushed down the pecking order, which is very welcome news indeed!
