The Cobblers entertain Yeovil Town on Saturday afternoon in desperate need of three points to kick start the season following last week’s disappointing loss at Brighton.
Andy Kirk got through the 90 minutes at the Withdean Stadium so will be hopeful that his groin problems are behind him. Giles Coke remains the only other long term injury for the Cobblers going into the game.
Yeovil will give a reserve team run out to club captain Terry Skiverton along with Mark Lynch and Lee Morris before deciding on their fitness ahead of the Sixfields clash.
Last time the sides met was in the opening game of 2007 at Huish Park as Ian Sampson led the Cobblers to a decent 0-0 draw down in Somerset. We’ll be hoping to go one better this time around and pick up our first league success of the season.
THE STORY SO FAR…YEOVIL TOWN IN 2007/08
The Glovers made a bad start to this season with two quick defeats bringing them right back down to earth following their near miss in the playoffs last time around.
Huddersfield Town claimed all three points in their clash with Yeovil on the opening day of the season, Luke Beckett scoring the only goal of the game for The Terriers. They were then beaten 4-1 by League Two side Hereford United in a dismal Carling Cup performance, new signing Lloyd Owusu bagging their only goal on an otherwise forgettable evening.
But following those two set backs, Town replied with a 1-0 home win over Port Vale last weekend with Justin Cochrane’s goal enough to record their first three points of the season.

If Andy Kirk's groin problems are now behind him, does that mean his arse is a bit sore?
