Relegation scrap well and truly back on

It was a night that could have seen us propelled to the dizzy heights of fifteenth place but eventually shot us right back into the relegation mire. Simon Cox inevitably hit a hat-trick and despite the claims of a wrong penalty decision when Scott Vernon was brought down and a late equaliser being chalked off, it’s back down to earth for us now.

Swindon have now scored ten goals in three games, winning them all and we have to take comfort that the goals are at least flying in for us as well. It’s seven goals in a couple of games for us now and Adebayo Akinfenwa is more vital to us than ever, scoring twice in two games since returning from suspension.

This is a huge part of the season coming up now…away games at Carlisle and Yeovil will ultimately shape the final furlong of the season with the chasing pack ready to stick us right in it a week on Saturday when we have no game due to Scunthorpe being in the JPT Final.

Squeeky bum time it most certainly is…
