Calderwood in for Bunn?

It’s with a bit of surprise that we hear of Mr Calderwood’s latest plans as this week it has emerged that he may be following up his capture of Luke Chambers by putting in an offer for Mark Bunn.

How strange that after leaving Bunn on the bench for most of his managerial reign that CC suddenly wants him at Forest. Does he now see the error of his ways or does he just want Bunny to again be a backup goalkeeper? If the latter is true, I can’t see Bunn going anywhere near the City Ground. For three years Bunn waited patiently for a chance under Calderwood and time and again Lee Harper remained in place except for the odd pre-season friendly or Football League Trophy game.

Fair enough if Calderwood sees Bunn as first choice goalkeeper and if he comes up with a substantial bid (I’m talking at least £500,000-not the £200,000 being banded about at the moment) we would certainly have to listen to the offer. For Bunn himself, he has to think about his own personal future. If the right offer comes in for him we can not stand in his way.

But if Mr Calderwood wants him to again warm his bench, I can’t see us losing our player of the year just yet.
