Cobblers 1-1 Coventry City

Andy Kirk was back in the goals yesterday, albeit from a spot kick as the Cobblers drew 1-1 with Coventry City.

From most reports I've heard it seemed to be a poor first half with Leon Best hammering City in front before we picked up in the second half and got a deserved draw from the Championship side. Joe Howe's shot was handled on the line by Elliot Ward and Kirk stepped up to score from the spot.

So we remain unbeaten in pre-season with West Bromich Albion in town on Tuesday evening. The lack of a real goal threat is still worrying claret-hearted fans but hopefully Mr Gray has something up his sleeve in the coming weeks to cure the worried faces surrounding Sixfields when we attack.

The pre-season so far:

UE San Jose 1-3 Cobblers
SD Portmany 0-5 Cobblers
Kettering Town 0-1 Cobblers
Cobblers 1-1 Coventry City
