Coke signs as Kirk is handed lifeline

Giles Coke has joined the Cobblers today from Mansfield Town. A tribunal will decide the transfer fee after the Stags rejected our previous offers.

Coke, a box to box midfielder, began his career as a trainee at QPR but after failing to break into the first team at Loftus Road, joined Kingstonian before agreeing to move to Mansfield Town, where he scored seven times in his time there.

Stuart Gray is still trying to bring in two more strikers as the pre-season gets under way but has today handed Andy Kirk a lifeline by taking him off the transfer list.
The players return to training today.
