Northampton Town vs Wolverhampton Wanderers...Preview...

The Cobblers welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Sixfields tonight in the final home pre-season friendly, looking to bounce back from the 5-1 hammering dished out by West Bromwich Albion last week.

Mick McCarthy has brought in Southend hitman Fredy Eastwood this summer along with Sunderland’s Steven Elliot, Michael Gray from Blackburn Rovers and Darren Ward from Crystal Palace. All could feature at Sixfields this evening.

For the Cobblers, Chris Doig and Brett Johnson are back in full training but tonight’s game will come too soon for the defensive duo. They may both be able to play some part in Saturday’s Maunsell Cup game at Rushden. Mark Bunn misses tonight’s game as well due to compassionate leave so Chris Dunn will deputise.
