Andy Holt’s impressive pre-season campaign continued as The Cobblers came out on top against neighbours Kettering Town last night.
After disallowed goals from Andy Kirk and Ian Henderson, Holt stooped to nod home a Sam Aiston cross just before the hour mark. It was Holt’s third goal in three friendly games and the left sided player seems to be enjoying his new attacking role.
The Cobblers dominated the game and in the later stages, substitutes were rolled on and included Colin Larkin, Joe Howe and Shaun Goodall.
Next up in pre-season are three home games with Championship opposition, starting with Coventry City at Sixfields on Saturday afternoon.
The pre-season so far:
UE San Jose 1-3 Cobblers
SD Portmany 0-5 Cobblers
Kettering Town 0-1 Cobblers
