Aiston makes permanent Wrexham switch

Sam Aiston has made his loan move to Wrexham a permanent one this afternoon as the Cobblers midfielder makes the switch to the Recreation Ground. Aiston, 31, has been on loan at the League Two club for the last couple of months and Brian Little has snapped him up on a free transfer.

Aiston joined the Cobblers from Tranmere Rovers in 2006 when John Gorman made him one of his first signings as manager. He went on to make 25 appearances for the club with ten of those appearances coming from the bench.

He has started seven times for the League Two bottom club, coming off the bench once, and will be hoping to help them out of their relegation dog fight in the second half of the season.
