Town line up Hungarian defender

The Cobblers are expected to offer a contract to Hungarian international defender Gabor Gyepes today after the player impressed boss Stuart Gray during a recent trial. Gyepes, 26, is a centre half and has seventeen international caps with his country.

Gyepes started his career at Ferencvaros, including appearances in the Champions League, moved to Wolves in 2005 but injury ended his time at Molineux. Stuart Gray is likely to offer him a contract initially until the end of this season after he played in this week’s 4-2 reserve team defeat to Peterborough United at Sixfields.

Whilst at Wolves, Gyepes made nineteen league appearances but his career in England seemed to be ended by a serious cruciate knee injury that kept him out of the game for nearly a year.
